NJCWRT Presents: Part 3  General George Mead & The Committee on the Conduct of War

In early 1863, Congress investigated General George Meade and his leadership during the Gettysburg Campaign. Numerous high ranking officials including Meade's enemies, Daniel Sickles, Daniel Butterfield, and Abner Doubleday testified. This program will explore the Committee on the Conduct of War's investigation into Meade and consider the ways in which these hearings influenced the general's reputation and standing.
