Celebrate the Festival of Lights at the Parsippany Library this Diwali

Parsippany, NJ – October 2024 – The Parsippany Library is thrilled to announce its third annual Diwali celebration on Saturday, October 26th. The event will feature a range of activities, performances, and cultural highlights that will bring the spirit of Diwali to life. Enjoy music, dance, crafts, games, food trucks, and more!

The Diwali celebration at the Parsippany Library is free and open to the public. All are welcome to join in the festivities, explore the beauty of Diwali, and share in the joy of this cultural celebration.

The Parsippany Library is dedicated to promoting cultural diversity and fostering a sense of togetherness in our community. We look forward to celebrating the Festival of Lights with you this Diwali.

Diwali, also known as Deepavali, is one of India's most celebrated festivals worldwide. It symbolizes the victory of light over darkness and good over evil, making it a festival of joy, positivity, and togetherness. The Parsippany Library welcomes the entire community to join us in commemorating this festive occasion at our Main Library.

Join us for celebrations and a variety of activities including:

  • Food trucks
  • Artist demonstrations
  • Henna painting
  • Arts & crafts
  • Photo booths & selfie stations
  • Outdoor games (weather permitting)
  • Dance performance - SOLD OUT!

Attendance for this event will be limited to the first 500 attendees. Although, the seats for the dance performance are sold out, there are many other activates at the library during the celebrate. On-site parking is limited. Additional parking will be available at 6 Century Drive.

**Please be advised that on Saturday, October 26, access to the Parsippany Main Library will be limited from 9 am until 1 pm due to our building-wide Diwali Celebration. Access to the Main Level will be limited to 500 visitors, and the Children’s Room and Lower Level will be closed until 1 pm. After 1 pm and until 5 pm, the whole library will be accessible. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your understanding as we work to make your visit enjoyable and accommodating. Thank you for your patience, and we look forward to welcoming you to the library later in the day!
