ADULT: Rediscovering Craftsman Farms
Thursday, July 257:00—8:30 PMStickley Museum at Craftsman Farms’2352 NJ-10, Morris Plains, NJ, 07950
Session 3: On-site tour of the Log House so people can experience the space and see the objects we have discussed.
Because one of the goals of the Stickley Museum at Craftsman Farms is to foster meaningful connections between objects and audiences, and because learning about art is more impactful when audiences can experience it directly, the last session will be held in the Log House at Craftsman Farms. Here, the full implications of Stickley’s dreams is made tangible and we recover an often overlooked piece of our shared history on the same floorboards he walked across, by the fireplaces where the family gathered, and experience the culmination of his dreams–the Log House at Craftsman Farms–not simply as photographs or histories trapped in amber, but really as a living, breathing space. Through this experience, one gets a better sense of the scale of his home and the objects, and all have an opportunity to connect more deeply with the sense of place and the ideals that brought Stickley to New Jersey.
